Cut up all credit cards except one except one for emergencies. Have your husband or wife or parent or trusted family member hide that credit in a place that would be very difficult for you to find. If you have an emergency, use your emergency fund. “But I have no emergency fund!” you say. Well of course not. Thats because you forfeit it to the credit companies. Each time you pay interest on the card (even after one day of usage, there is no pay within 30 days for zero interest, it does not exist) you are giving part of your emergency fund to the credit company. How many months and how many years have you been doing this? Think of the size of that fund had it existed.

i just cut up my visa coincidentally, debit card and checks and cash, all i need, i work hard for my money, no visa sucker will get a penny, and be sure to get proof of visa card cancellation and file it away
I think I would put a credit card at the bottom of a big container of worms. I have a phobia of worms so it would really have to be an emergency for me to get to it.

you are right in all aspects.
I went through 5 weeks of training in how to deceive people into either keeping their cards when they want to cancel them or to get them into a new card.
we were shown ways to skirt around card holders questions by simply just not disclosing facts.
cut up the cards, use cash.
also we were told not to try to get senior citizens to get cards, for fear they will die soon and not pay off the debt.
